Jennie Lynch

Jennie Lynch is originally from London, but she has been based in Leeds for a LONG time. She manages to affect a Yorkshire accent so that she does not get laughed at. She has had a wide musical taste from an early age, having grown up with Irish music and later developing a penchant for punk, post-punk, goth, blues, rock, psychedelia, folk, occasionally some dance and electronica, and maybe a bit of pop.

Career

Jennie originally came to Leeds to go to university and never got round to going back to London. After graduating and spending the requisite period unemployed, she had a stint with the Yorkshire Television community service broadcasting team and then university administration. However, most of her career has been in healthcare, working as a midwife, nurse, and advanced nurse practitioner.

Present

Jennie enjoys live music and is an avid gig-goer, whether it be down the local pub, a small festival, or a more established venue. She is not quite so keen on the big stadiums, though. She likes to travel when she can and often visits Ireland and Germany, where she has family. She also writes and is working on her novel, hoping to get it published before she dies. You can get a taster on her Substack or Ko-fi, but if you want the whole novel, you will have to buy it – with real money. She has been a presenter for Daz in the Hat radio since its creation in September 2023. Her show, Music for the Apocalypse, is intended to showcase classics, local talent, perhaps some forgotten gems, plus up-and-coming bands. And it does not take itself too seriously.
